Melbourne MD uses unweighted GAMSAT and a 50% interview offer formula.

For standard GEMSAS applicants, Melbourne ranks interview offers using GPA and equally weighted GAMSAT sections. Final offers put heavy weight on the MMI.

Special Pathways and Reranking

Graduate Access Melbourne can rerank eligible applicants based on sustained disadvantage. Melbourne also has rural access arrangements, an MD Rural Pathway, guaranteed entry pathways, and priority access for eligible Indigenous applicants.

A small number of applicants with high-level performance in a recent cognate PhD may also be reranked in their favour under strict quota limits.

What Students Miss

Melbourne is not using the ACER weighted overall GAMSAT in the ordinary way. If your section scores are uneven, your Melbourne competitiveness can differ from your headline GAMSAT.
