Built for every university

Every university's interview rewards the same fundamentals. Dan has coached students applying to every Australian medical school, and over half of his students who received offers were applying outside Melbourne.

You perform, live

Volunteers are picked at random to answer questions in front of the group and get immediate feedback. No one is ever forced to perform: it is always optional, and watching until you feel ready is fine. Performing under real observation is the training an interview actually requires.

Marked and discussed live

Not a lecture. Answers are pulled apart in real time: what worked, what an interviewer would flag, and how the same answer becomes an offer-level answer. You learn from every performance in the room.

First session · Friday 24 July, 6pm AEST

The first class is a check-in session.

  • An overview of how the MMI actually runs and what is really being assessed.
  • What Dan looks for in students: the habits that separate offers from near-misses.
  • The key skills to show on the day, and how to talk your thinking through out loud, with your questions answered as they come up.
  • Then, with the remaining time: volunteers are chosen at random to perform individual questions rather than full stations, so more students get a turn. Performing is always optional and no one is forced. If the group is shy, it becomes full stations as time permits.

The format will evolve. That is deliberate.

These classes are new, and Dan is still gauging the format that gets students the most out of each hour: more performances, more group dissection, more drilling. Expect the structure to change from week to week while that happens.

What will not change: it stays live, you get chances to perform, and every answer performed gets honest feedback.

Every university

One interview skill set. Every university.

The MMI format takes no effort to adjust to. Reading time, a scenario, a follow-up or two: the wrapper differs slightly between universities, but the assessment does not. Every university is looking for the same things: structured thinking, genuine empathy, ethical reasoning, and clear communication under time pressure.

Dan has coached students applying to every Australian medical school. Over half of his students who went on to receive offers were applying to universities other than Melbourne. Any student preparing for any MMI, panel or hybrid interview benefits from this training, because the training targets the fundamentals interviewers actually score.

If you think you need a tutor from your specific university, Dan would argue you are wrong. Anyone selling university-specific magic potions deserves your scepticism. Interviews reward fundamentals, and fundamentals transfer.
FAQ

MMI classes: common questions

When do the classes run?

Live every Friday at 6pm AEST on Zoom. The first class is Friday 24 July 2026.

How much do the classes cost?

A single class is $150. The weekly subscription is $140 per week, covers every class while active, and cancels anytime. Packages drop the per-class price: 4 classes for $540 ($135 per class) or 8 classes for $1,040 ($130 per class).

How do I join the class on the night?

The Zoom link changes every week for security and is emailed to everyone with access before class. Add dan@key2md.net to your safe senders as soon as you pay. If the link is not in your inbox 15 minutes before class, check your junk folder, then this page: the link appears here once released.

What happens in the first session on 24 July?

It is a check-in session: an overview of how the MMI runs and what is assessed, what Dan looks for in students, and the key skills to show and how to talk your thinking through, with questions answered along the way. With the remaining time, volunteers are chosen at random to perform individual questions so more students get a turn, moving to full stations as time permits if the group is shy. Performing is always optional and no one is forced.

Do I have to perform?

No. Performing is always optional and no one is ever forced. Volunteers are picked at random to keep the class moving, but you can simply pass and watch. Plenty of students watch their first class and volunteer once they have seen how it runs.

Will the format stay the same every week?

Not necessarily. The classes are new, and Dan is still gauging the format and structure that serve students best, so expect the format to evolve. What stays constant: live classes, real questions, students performing, and honest feedback.

I'm not applying to the University of Melbourne. Is this still for me?

Yes. Every university's interview rewards the same fundamentals: structured thinking, genuine empathy, ethical reasoning and clear communication. Dan has coached students applying to every Australian medical school, and over half of his students who went on to receive offers were applying to universities other than Melbourne. The format differences between universities take no effort to adjust to.

How do the packages work if I miss a week?

Packages cover consecutive Fridays from purchase, so a missed week still counts as used. Pick the run of weeks you can attend. If a genuine clash comes up, email Dan before the class and he will do his best to help.

Can I cancel the weekly subscription?

Yes, anytime from this page once logged in. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid week, so you keep any class you have already paid for.

Are the classes recorded?

Dan records sessions solely to protect session integrity and resolve any misconduct concern. The stations and teaching are copyrighted; students may not record, screen-capture or share any part of a class. See the Terms of Use.
