Quick Read
Why UOW Is Different
For UOW, a high traditional combo does not automatically carry the application once the hurdles are cleared. The applicant's CASPer result and bonus evidence become the main ranking levers for interview.
The Key2MD calculator models UOW separately from the normal combo schools. It checks GPA/GAMSAT hurdles and estimates the combined CASPer plus bonus profile using the 50/50 interview-ranking structure.
UOW Bonus Areas To Check
| Bonus area | Student question |
|---|---|
| First preference | Will UOW be your first GEMSAS preference? |
| Health professional status | Do you have eligible practising registration or accreditation? |
| Service or sustained work | Can you document consecutive eligible service or employment? |
| Rural work, schooling or residence | Can you evidence MM2-MM7 rural connection under the relevant category? |
| UOW graduate categories | Are you an eligible UOW graduate, and do you meet the academic excellence threshold? |
| Financial disadvantage | Can you provide the required evidence for the qualifying period? |
What Students Miss
Students often over-focus on GAMSAT for UOW. Once the hurdle is met, a stronger CASPer and more valid bonuses are more relevant than chasing a slightly higher overall GAMSAT.
