Published selection and interview guidance
Flinders' domestic application guide describes a semi-structured interview using scenarios and questions with a small panel, normally lasting about 45–50 minutes. It is not a rotating MMI. Selection uses GAMSAT, academic results and interview performance within the relevant quotas; applications are made directly to Flinders.

- Genuine rural and remote interest - real, specific motivation rather than a rehearsed line.
- Cultural awareness and respect when a station calls for it, without lecturing.
- Warm, clear communication and visible empathy in role-play stations.
- Balanced, honest reasoning.
Common mistakes we see
- A metro-only outlook when the program is clearly rural and remote.
- Generic answers with no specific connection to people or place.
- Talking over the other person in a role-play.
- Sounding rehearsed rather than genuine.
About the Flinders MD program
Flinders' Doctor of Medicine is a graduate-entry program of around four years, based in Adelaide with extensive rural and remote placements, including in the Northern Territory (Darwin).
