How Macquarie selects for medicine

Macquarie University offers a graduate-entry Doctor of Medicine in Sydney. Selection combines your GPA, the GAMSAT, and a multiple mini interview (MMI) for shortlisted applicants.

Common mistakes we see

  • Surface-level reflection with no honest, specific detail.
  • Rushing to a conclusion before weighing the perspectives involved.
  • Talking about empathy rather than showing it to the character.
  • Answers that sound rehearsed and break under a follow-up.

About the Macquarie MD program

Macquarie's Doctor of Medicine is a graduate-entry program of around four years, based at the Macquarie University campus in Sydney, which includes its own university hospital. As a newer program it emphasises modern, integrated and simulation-supported learning with early clinical exposure. Confirm the current structure with Macquarie.

Fees (approximate)

Unlike Commonwealth Supported programs, Macquarie's MD has generally been offered as a full-fee program, so tuition is substantially higher than CSP places at other schools. Because full-fee tuition is significant and changes each year, we do not quote a figure here - confirm current fees, loan eligibility and any scholarships directly with Macquarie.

Macquarie has a strong research and clinical-innovation focus, with research components and pathways available alongside the MD and links to its on-campus hospital and institutes. Confirm current options with Macquarie.
