How Curtin selects for medicine

Curtin offers an undergraduate-entry medicine program in Perth, Western Australia. Selection combines secondary academic results (ATAR), the UCAT, and a multiple mini interview (MMI) for shortlisted applicants, with a stated focus on community, rural and underserved health needs.

  • Individualistic answers that ignore the team or community.
  • Reaching for jargon instead of clear explanation.
  • Talking about empathy instead of showing it to the character.

About the Curtin Medicine program

Curtin's undergraduate-entry program runs around five years, leading to the Doctor of Medicine, based in Perth with placements across WA including rural and regional sites. As a newer school, it emphasises interprofessional, community-oriented learning with early clinical contact. Confirm the current structure with Curtin.

Fees (approximate)

Most domestic students study in a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) and pay the government-set annual student contribution for medicine - roughly AUD 10,000-11,000 per year as a 2025 guide, subject to change.
