Practise making your reasoning clear in a short interaction. Ground reflections in your own experiences rather than using clinical language you cannot explain.
A practice exercise
Use a part-time work or school example where two people wanted different outcomes. Explain how you listened, what limits you faced and what you learned from the outcome. Ask a partner which part was still unclear.
Keep in mind: Do not copy another applicant's experience or assume every pathway receives the same invitation date.

- Balanced judgement - weighing more than one perspective before acting.
Common mistakes we see
- Ignoring the equity or community angle when a station clearly invites it.
- Generic answers that show no connection to the people involved.
- Talking over the other person in a role-play instead of listening.
- Sounding rehearsed rather than genuine.
About the Western Sydney Medicine program
WSU's undergraduate-entry program runs around five years, leading to the Doctor of Medicine, based in Greater Western Sydney (Campbelltown) with strong community and primary-care placements. Teaching uses problem-based, community-oriented learning with early clinical contact. Confirm the current structure with WSU.
