You have examples worth talking about.

You can practise using experiences from school, a part-time job, sport, caring responsibilities or a group project. Explain what happened, the choices you made and what you learned. Do not invent clinical experience or give medical advice beyond your knowledge.

A routine from October to your interview

1. While waiting for invitations: check your school's official instructions and gather examples of teamwork, disagreement, responsibility and learning from feedback.
2. When invited: save the date, delivery format and technical requirements. Match practice to a panel, MMI or MSA rather than assuming every school uses the same format.
3. Between sessions: answer one prompt, review one improvement and repeat with a different prompt. Record yourself when practising a spoken answer.
4. Near the interview: practise under the timing stated in your invitation and check your travel or video-call arrangements.

Your school-leaver interview preparation checklist

A free checklist for applicants, parents and careers advisers. Use it alongside the university's own instructions.

1. Confirm the pathway. Record your school, domestic or international category and whether you are applying as a school leaver or graduate.
2. Check the dates. Note invitation, booking and interview dates separately. Save the invitation and check its time zone.
3. Collect four real experiences. Think of teamwork, a disagreement, responsibility and learning from feedback. Write brief reminders of your role and what changed.
4. Match the format. For a panel, practise listening and responding to follow-up questions. For rotating stations, practise starting each new prompt afresh.
5. Practise, review, repeat. Record one answer, choose one thing to improve and try a different question. Avoid memorising a model script.
6. Prepare the practical details. Check travel or the required device, connection and private room. Follow the university's rules on notes and assistance.
